Our treatment programs are customized based on the patients’ need. Using a multitude of hands-on techniques, we focus on pain reduction, restored function, and range of motion. We offer home exercise programs and strategies to keep the problem from recurring. We offer the latest technology combined with hands-on manual therapy techniques to provide the best results.
We offer a variety of services:
Vestibular Rehabilitation
Most of us will experience balance issues at some point in our lives and when that happens, the likely cause is our vestibular system, one of our main balance systems that acts as a gyroscope for the body. Symptoms of vestibular disorders include imbalance, vertigo, dizziness, frequent falls and migraines.
We use a number of techniques, which involves specific movements, techniques, and exercises, to decrease the symptoms to help determine the source of the problem and correct it.
Concussion Management
Concussion is a type brain injury caused by a blow, “jolt” or bump to the head. It is a serious form of trauma that requires proper attention and care to prevent further injury and long-term impairment.
Prescriptive Exercise
Prescriptive exercise is highly effective and a key component of injury prevention, recovery, pain management, and general good health. We are very knowledgeable in providing patients with exercises specifically designed for you and your needs.
Whether you are pre- or post-surgical, returning to activity or work, improving your ability as an athlete, pre- or postnatal, or managing systemic conditions such as arthritis, our therapists will work with you to design an exercise program to get you back to normal and maintain it.
Electrophysical Modalities
Electrical modalities, such as ultrasound, laser, neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES), transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), and interferential current (IFC) are all designed to stimulate tissue healing, reduce pain and swelling, and to restore normal tissue function.
We may use a variety of electrotherapy tools during your treatment sessions.
Pelvic Floor Therapy
Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy primarily uses non-invasive techniques, such as manual therapy, exercises, education, and lifestyle modifications. Surgical interventions are not part of pelvic floor physiotherapy practice. We also specialize in internal techniques.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy helps patients nourish their body and mind and is beneficial for any age or body type.Massage can also help alleviate the pain after trauma or injury. Some of the benefits of massage include relaxation, improved range of motion, improved posture, reduced heart rate, increased endorphins, and improved circulation.
We offer a variety of different options for massage therapy including:
Injury Specific Massage
Deep Tissue Massage
Relaxation Massage
Sports Injury Massage
Massage for Edema
Pre-natal Massage
Post-natal Massage
Manual Therapy
Programs of manual therapy are particularly effective in reducing inflammation and starting tissue repair as well as improving function.
Hands on approach works well with joint mobilization, range of motion restoration and soft tissue and deep tissue mobilization.
Back and neck pain remains a primary reason why patients seek physiotherapy. We have a comprehensive treatment program to reduce pain and help you get back to your normal level of activity.
Spinal manipulation or spinal adjustment is used to apply pressure on the spine or a joint with the aim of reducing pain and improving function. This controlled force is carefully delivered and ranges from gentle to strong and slow to fast. It is a safe treatment option when delivered by a trained physiotherapist.
Chiropractic
Chiropractic is an evidence-based, non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the musculoskeletal system. Chiropractors practice primarily using their hands, providing diagnosis, treatment and preventive care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, nervous system and joints.
Chiropractors use a combination of treatments, depending on the specific needs of the individual patient. After taking a history, performing an examination and establishing a diagnosis, a chiropractor can develop and carry out a comprehensive treatment/management plan, recommend therapeutic exercise and other non-invasive therapies.
Acupuncture
This traditional Chinese medicine technique is used to treat a number of painful conditions including fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.
It involves repeated penetration of the skin by thin metallic needles. The skillful practitioner works to correct imbalances of flow at points close to the skin and bring you relief from stillness and pain.
This is a customized treatment for each patient as the physiotherapist works with individuals to identify areas causing problems and then gently stimulate them with the needles.
Custom Foot Orthotics
Foot biomechanics play a vital role in how the body moves and functions. A custom foot orthotic is a biomechanical insole achieving alignment of the foot and ankle into an anatomically efficient position.
Your orthotic evaluation will involve a thorough history and complete biomechanical assessment including a clinical gait analysis. A 3-dimensional mold of your foot will be made and your custom-made prescription orthotic will be unique to your condition, activity level, and to the footwear in which you will use them.
